Chatham Lab-Grown White Sapphires
Chatham makes the beauty of white sapphire much more available with lab-grown white sapphires that have the pure colorless hue and brilliant clarity that you love in this versatile gem. Growing white sapphire crystals takes about six months. We start with a seed of fine Sri Lankan white sapphire. We create the perfect environment so the white crystals grow large and clean. When we cut the crystals, we cut away 80% of the rough to give you faceted white sapphires that are an icy clear white and dance with brilliance.
We cut our white sapphires in a wide variety of shapes. And because they are created in our labs, they have less of an impact on the environment than gems that are mined. We think the exceptional quality and beauty of our lab-grown white sapphires make them a better choice than mined white sapphires.
About White Sapphires
The versatility of a colorless gem meets the brilliance of sapphire. Did you know the world’s favorite blue gemstone comes in white too? A lovely alternative to diamonds in engagement rings, white sapphire is becoming more popular today as more women discover its brilliant quality.
Sapphires are the gems of fidelity, honesty, and truth. White sapphire is a symbol of clarity and honesty.
Sapphire is defined as all gem colors of the mineral corundum except red, which is ruby. Fancy white sapphires are often found in the same areas as blue sapphires. White sapphire is often confused with white diamond.
Sapphire is most common in oval and cushion shapes. Other shapes may be difficult to find in sizes above a carat. They are durable and easy to care for with a hardness second to only diamond.
